December 2019 – What a pleasure it’s been following and covering your journey this year.

The triumphs, the testing times, the laughs, the tears, the frustrations, the exhaustion, the energy, the excitement, the nerves, the places you’ve been, the sights you’ve seen…. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed capturing it all in Southern Africa.

You’re a bunch of determined hard-arsed individuals with a tremendous ability to take the bull by the horns, the bit between your teeth, and simply give it all.

Adventure racing, trail running, mountain biking, obstacle course racing – you just don’t stop. You really do epitomise your Team motto: ‘Good better best, never rest until your good is better and your better best.’

You haven’t been just a team I’ve been working for this year, but you’ve become great mates too, and it’s been lekker fun. Baie Dankie. (My Afrikaans is still totally rubbish.)

Your media chic Kiwi Bella is now signing out, and I’m sure you won’t miss my nagging for your race reports…!

Keep in touch, I’ll keep following your sports journeys, and there’s no doubt we’ll adventure together again in some part of the world.

And remember, as I once heard at a race briefing from a wise Kiwi sports commentator; “To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice your gift.”
